Hi there,

For those of you arriving late to this intrepid family journey through the heart of Australia, you may like to start reading at the beginning. Unfortunately, Blogger organises posts with those most recently created appearing first. So, if you jump in at the top, you're not going to get the full experience of this gritty blow-by-blow account of our adventure. As such, I suggest using the navigation window above and head down to March, where the first part of this journey began. Hopefully, by the end, you’ll be hooked. From there you can scroll upwards to continue the journey. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!

Alternatively, simply click on the following link to jump right there:

Oh, and one last thing, if you’d like to receive an email when a new post is added, simply type your email address in the field below and let the internet pixies do the rest.

Not quite ready yet...

For those of you checking in to get the next update on our grand adventure, I’m sorry to disappoint you – but it’s not quite ready yet...

I had hoped to get the second part of our sojourn in El Questro out tonight – but, alas it didn’t happen. We spent most of the afternoon driving for miles on a beach as flat as a billiard table, basking in the brilliantly clean sand, spotting dinosaur footprints along the rocky shore, and drinking in a vibrant crimson sunset (see if you can figure out where we are from the clues – go on, give it a go!)

But, rest assured. While we are away, I will continue to chip away at this blog – and in a few days, when we stumble back into an area with mobile internet access – the conclusion of our adventure at El Questro station will appear like magic before your eyes.

Until then, we have a long drive ahead of us and I need to sleep.

Bye ‘d bye,

Gregg

  1. Caught up!

I've had your email in my inbox for weeks hassling me to read what you've been up to but this evening is the first time I've had a spare evening with nothing else on to have a nosey.

Now, I knew you were a loquacious so and so, but crikey, you can't half tell a winding tale or two ;)

If you want to see some rambling coming from the other side of the world, check out my latest post: http://www.rock-crawler.co.uk/2017/06/13/hills-and-mills-a-mini-running-holiday/

  2. Loquacious, sir, loquacious?!? Well, I’ve been called some names in my time (y’know, old chestnuts like verbose, long winded, a posing-prattler, and [perhaps my favourite] magniloquent…), but never loquacious.

[quickly opens dictionary] Oh, umm, yeah… I see what you mean…

Hey Kelly, great to hear from you all the way from the other side of the world. I’m really chuffed that you dropped by to check out what our little travelling clan has been up to for the past few months. I know I’m a little behind on my blog by now, but the nights have been getting colder as we’ve moved westward on our journey (the only time I get write it as night… sitting outside while everyone curls up cosily under their blankets). We’ve also just spent (i.e., endured) a few weeks camping, with limited means of powering the old laptop (all shall be revealed in future posts) – but I’m sure I’ll catch up soon.

I’m keen to read you blog and it’s brilliant to hear you’re still running around the British countryside like a loon. I’ve saved the link you sent me to http://www.rock-crawler.co.uk/2017/06/13/hills-and-mills-a-mini-running-holiday/ for when I have better internet access (I haven't seen 4G for months - let alone 3G... I think we're connecting via some ancient signal that was devised during the Cold War... Occasionally, my phone even gets a soupçon of H+). But once we're back in the more modern state of Victoria, I’ll be sure to catch up on what you’ve been up to.

In the meantime, thanks for posting your comments on my blog. It was nice to know there are actually ‘real live people’ out there reading this stuff! (If there are any other real live people, I’d love to hear from you too!)

    Cheerio,

    Gregg
